Last week I was fortunate enough to work at the Florida Venture Capital Conference. Being my first conference, I had no clue what to expect. I arrived at 8 am excited to start the day and enjoyed myself so much that I stayed until 9 pm! I went in not knowing anyone, but by the end of the night, the whole crew started to feel like family. After working the conference for a few hours Pat Schneider let me experience the rest as a guest. I was able to listen in on a few panels of investors including General Motors. My favorite part was the cocktail hour before dinner; not for the drinks, but the great opportunity to network. In these last months of school networking is key to finding a job out of college! Overall this conference was an amazing experience and I look forward to working with the Florida Venture Forum in the future.
