Saint Patty's Day has always been a tradition in my family. My mom went all out every year growing up. To begin the day, my mom would make green eggs with our breakfast. Then she would grab the box of St. Patty's Day apparel out of the closet and my brothers and I would fight over which pins we got. Nobody wanted to be the kid at school that everyone pinched because he wasn't wearing green!
The next big event for the holiday was dinner. This was the one day a year we ate corned beef and cabbage. My parents would have a green beer with dinner and my brothers and I were so jealous that my mom would put dye in our beverages as well. To this day, I don't think any of us particularly enjoyed corned beef or cabbage, but it was a tradition we all embraced.
My favorite part is that everyone is considered Irish on St. Patty's Day, No matter what race, belief, or color of your skin!
